Paper cutting is a fascinating art form practiced in China and Japan, Germany, Poland, and beyond. However diverse the styles, techniques, and traditions of the craft, paper cutting around the world seem to have one thing in common: They usually feature creatures or scenes from folk or fairytales.
In the spirit of this tradition, we will cut images from paper and layer them to create a multi-dimensional forest scene complete with mushrooms, flora, and a fantastical character or creature that you choose from among several options. All participants will use the same template but the colors, textures, and focal point you select make for an enchanting scene that is uniquely your own.
This is a 2-part class. Participants will need to attend both sessions to complete their project. You will automatically be registered for Part 2 of 2 on Thursday, July 24 at 6pm.
