What is 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten all about? It is a national program that promotes early literacy and reading together with your child. The concept is simple; read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your little one starts kindergarten. Please register below. You can then pick up a packet in the Children’s Room, print sheets here, or download the app (free in your app store). Each time you reach 100 books come in to the Library to turn in your sheet and get another or just show us your app. For every 100 books you read together, you’ll get your name on our digital "Wall of Fame" on the Library's website. That’s it! Well, except that you and your child will have cuddle time and be building literacy skills and learning new things together. Happy reading!
